Molly Healey is violinist, cellist, and singer-songwriter from Jefferson City, MO, currently residing in Springfield, MO. After several years on the road touring with acts such as Big Smith, Cornmeal, the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, and countless other Missouri-based bands, she has begun a solo project with just her violin, cello, voice, and a looping-effects pedal that allows her to record herself, and play multiple lines at one time. Her first solo album, Nightbirds, recorded at Centro-Cellar Studios in Columbia, MO, is due out in the fall of 2015. She also continues to accompany and tour with various bands and songwriters from around the region.
Molly's first solo album, Nightbirds, is now available through Bandcamp and coming soon to iTunes and other online music stores.
Join Molly for a one-of-a-kind concert experience on November 14th, 2015. She will debut her original orchestral looping songs off of her solo album, Nightbirds, which will be available for purchase for the first time at the performance! Molly will be performing her original compositions on her looping pedal with Kyle Day assisting her on bass; in addition, there will be several guest artists joining her for the performance, including Kasey Rausch, Dallas Jones, and more TBA. The venue, The Fairbanks, is the old Fairbanks School in Springfield, MO, which is currently under renovation to become a community event center. Because of the twilight mood of the album, Molly wanted a non-traditional space that was historical and unique to the city, but not yet renovated into its future state. The haunting, dark, dusty halls that lead to the gymnasium will not only lend a visual compliment to the performance, but it will also be decked with visual art (also for sale) painted and sculpted by some of the city's finest artists, all in response to the theme of the album. Such talented artists included so far are Stephanie Cramer, Chad Woody, Kat Philbin, Lil Olive, Tommi Clark, Jennifer Pierson, Eric Vaughn, Mary Gotheridge and Alex Whittington. The result will be an aurally and visually striking concert experience like none other.
